资源简介:
DFO's Upward Looking Sonar (ULS) collected keel draft data in the Canadian Beaufort Sea. This ULS data collected between 2003 and 2008 were analyzed and 117 ice ridge keels with drafts in excess of 20 m were identified. No data were available for 2009 due to a malfunctioning ADCP unit, and no processed keel data were available for 2010 or later. Envisat and Landsat 5 and Landsat 7 archives were searched for imagery that corresponded with extreme keel events over the ULS. Imagery was identified for 29 of the 117 keel events. Using the data available during the timeframe of this study, correlation of keel and satellite data had limited success. This was attributed to several factors. The original intent of the project was to capture new satellite data and use this for correlation with the ULS ice keel data. However, as this project started late in the year, it was not possible to access ULS data in time to complete the accompanying report before the March 2012 deadline. As a consequence, available imagery archives were used instead for correlation to readily available ULS data. Additional details can be found in the attached report.
