Identification of predictive factors of community acquired Australian Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia

Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia [SAB] has a high mortality rate and stable incidence. Identifying predictors of poor outcomes such as fatality and complications could aid clinicians in triaging at-risk patients and improve these poor outcomes. In this observational study, adult cases of SAB presenting to a tertiary regional hospital in Victoria, Australia were collected and factors from epidemiology, bacterial whole genome sequencing and bacterial phenotyping were collected and analysed to identify risk factors for these poor outcomes
