Number of students in upper secondary schools in Iceland 2023, by subject

In 2023, most of the students in upper secondary schools in Iceland attended general programs. Of the 22,184 total students, 15,000 participated in these programs. Students studying engineering, manufacturing, and construction was the second largest group, with 4,300. People specializing in sciences, mathematics, and computing was the smallest group, with only 22 students. The total number of upper secondary students in Iceland has decreased since 2011.
