This research article compares a new DNA extraction methodology developed by Promega against this emerging standard. The results show that the two approaches produce similar measures of DNA purity and comparable composition of microbial communities. This research article demonstrates that the Promega Maxwell® RSC system can be used for a more automated, high-throughput DNA extraction without compromising the quality of downstream sequencing.
