Oil palm yields for calculating yield penalties in the 56 EFForTS-BEE plots: Available yield data from oil palms within the EFForTS biodiversity enrichment experiment (BEE) were used to analyse the spatial and temporal yield variability among oil palms, experimental plots and their surroundings. The analyses use monthly yield data (2014-2018) from oil palms within tree-enriched plots (0, 1, 2, 3 or 6 planted species) and conventionally managed control plots, adjacent to these plots and far outside the plots (control palms). The data was used to derive the ‘yield penalties’ per area, i.e. the reductions in per-area oil palm yield due to tree planting and associated oil palm removal across the experimental plots of different tree diversity levels and size. The yield dataset contains a .xlmx file with the following spreadsheets: 1) Metadata and abbreviations, 2) palm-level inside-plot yields ("Y ins (palm)"), 3) the corresponding dates of harvest ("D ins (palm)"), 4) plot-level inside-plot yields ("Y ins (plot)"), 5) the corresponding dates of harvest ("D ins (plot)"), 6) yields directly adjacent to the plots ("Y adj"), 7) the corresponding dates of harvest ("D adj"), 8) yields of control palms ("Y control"), 9) the corresponding dates of harvest ("D control"). All yield values are presented in kg fresh fruit bunches (FFB).
