Agricultural drought probability worldwide 2024, by leading country

Based on data from 1989 to 2023, Kazakhstan was the country with the highest probability of agricultural drought worldwide. An agricultural drought is a period in which at least 30 percent of the crop area was in stress for more than 10 days. Israel ranked second, while Somalia and Libya tied in third place. Somalia was also the country most exposed to droughts worldwide in 2024, based on a risk index score.
