Dataset for: Optimized time resolved echo particle image velocimetry (PIV) - particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) measurements to elucidate flow in left ventricular thrombus patients

The aim of this study was to explore the use of ultrasound based flow measurements, namely echo PIV-PTV for potential use in measuring oil-spill related flows that cannot be optically accessed. Processing tools were developed to analyze contrast echo images to extract velocity information. This dataset contains contrast echocardiograms (TIF images) of four patients used to calculate the time resolved 2D velocity field of blood flow inside the Left Ventricle of the heart. The final cardiac cycle averaged velocity data obtained after applying optimized processing techniques is provided in matlab data files ('.mat') for each patient.
