Here we describe microbial community dynamics in a phytoplankton Thalassiosira pseudonana culture with polysaccaride inhibitor dichlorobenzonitrile in the presence of water accommodated fraction of oil. Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing of filtered water samples collected after 5 days from the treatments, we characterized community structure to determine how the bacterial communities responded to the water accommodated fraction of oil with and without the dispersant polysaccaride inhibitor dichlorobenzonitrile.
