Blood small RNA biomarker for brain tumors. Homo sapiens

The development of noninvasive biomarkers is desired to improve the current management of brain tumor patients. In this study, we analyzed the global expression profile of small RNAs, such as miRNA, transfer RNA-derived fragment (tRF) and long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)-derived fragment in blood by using next-generation sequencing. The goal of this project is to develop blood biomarkers for the diagnosis of brain tumors, such as glioma, glioblastoma and primary central nervous system lymphoma. We also aim to develop the predictive and prognostic blood biomarkers for brain tumor patients. This study will facilitate the establishment of a better management system for brain tumor patients.
