UFC: number of knockouts and submissions 2014-2020

The number of knockouts and submissions in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has kept roughly the same proportions over recent years with 138 knockouts and 77 submissions in 2020. This correlates with the number of fights taking place which also been close to same in since 2014. The preferred type of submission move is the rear naked choke. Georges St-Pierre holds 2 records    As of June 2020, Canadian Georges St-Pierre still holds the record in the UFC for most takedowns landed during UFC fights with 90 takedowns as well as most strike landed in UFC fights with a total of 2,591 strikes. U.S. American Donald Cerrone holds the record for most knockdowns landed in UFC fights with 20 successful knockdowns. Pay-Per-View   In 2019 a total of 42 UFC events were held. the most successful event was UFC 229 – Khabib vs McGregor, achieving a Pay-Per-View buy rate of 2.4 million, the highest so far in UFC history.
