Genome-centric metagenomics and metatranscriptomics were employed to investigate the starvation response of anammox consortia. One lab-scale UASB anammox reactor was employed in this study, it has operated for more than 3 years and suffered unexpected nutrient suspension (this event lasted three days). Four-time points before and after nutrient suspension were selected. By combining multi-omics analysis of community changes and gene transcription profiles, we aim to explore transcriptional response mechanisms and subsequent recovery processes of anammox consortia.
