For drought stress in soil, two inbred and their hybrid maize seeds were sown in a soil box (height: 15cm, diameter: 18cm). All seedlings at three-leaf stage were exposed to a drought stress treatment . The soluble sugar content, and the activities of the POD, SOD in the leaves of the maize were measured after 7 days treatment . After 20 days, the rhizosphere soil of maize was taken to analyze the microbial community.
