Geometry Optimization of Broadband Planar Spiral Inductors via Continuous Trace Width Modulation

Simulated and experimental data of constant- and variable-width planar inductors, showcasing the superior performance of variable-width inductors. The experimental DC data is contained in the 'DCmeasurements' Excel file. The simulated and experimental RF data are contained in individual s1p files. The files use the inductor parameters as file names, where 'N' = number of turns, 'g' = growth factor, and 'wo' = initial width. A 'p' between numbers symbolizes a decimal comma. For each inductor design, one simulation dataset ('CST') and one experimental dataset ('MEAS') are provided.
