资源简介:
This study investigates the impact of cadaverine and colistin on gut microbiota composition under homeostatic conditions and DSS-induced colitis. For that adult female C57BL/6J wild-type mice (N = 6/group) were treated orally with colistin (600 µg/gavage) for 7 consecutive days to deplete Enterobacteriaceae. On day 7, 2% dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) was introduced in the drinking water to induce colitis, maintained until day 14, after which regular water was provided. Cadaverine (10 mg/kg, p.o., q.d.) treatment started on day 7, coinciding with DSS exposure, and continued until the endpoint. Microbial profiling was performed on fecal samples collected at the endpoint using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Microbial profiling was performed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, followed by alpha and beta diversity analyses to assess community structure, richness, and compositional shifts. This approach allowed us to characterize how cadaverine modulates microbiota dynamics in homeostatic and other settings.
