Pyrosequence results from a cDNA library from the salivary glands of adult female Amblyomma maculatum ticks. Amblyomma maculatum

This study reports on the salivary gland transcriptome of adult female Amblyomma maculatum ticks feeding from 0-9 days. A total of 1,626,969 pyrosequencing reads were assembled into 190,646 contigs, including singletons. A subset of this data containing only sequences larger than 149 nt yielded 72,441 sequences containing 1,498,171 reads, or 92% of the totality of reads. From this set, 15,896 coding sequences were obtained, containing 1,254,194 reads, or 77% of the totality of reads. Of these 15,896 CDS, 5,353 had >75 % coverage to their best match in the NR database, and 8,785 had e values by BLASTP equal or smaller than 1E-15 when compared to the same database.
