Inspire BW Habitats and Biotopes Forest biotope mapping

Inspire data set of forest biotopes in Baden-Württemberg. Forest biotope mapping (WBK) is carried out under the auspices of the Forstliche Experiments- und Forschungsanstalt (FVA). Field collection is carried out by forest-trained mapping. Forest biotope mapping collects particularly protected biotopes on a scale of 1:10.000 according to § 30 Federal Nature Conservation Act, § 32 Nature Conservation Act BW, Biotopschutzwald in accordance with § 30a Landeswaldgesetz as well as biotopes not legally protected, but subject to the self-binding of the forest owner. In addition, since 2007 it has been recording and evaluating forest and special openland habitat types in the FFH areas within the framework of FFH management planning. The data is kept in the LUBW Nature Conservation Information System (NAIS) and passed on from the LUBW to the lower nature conservation authorities and the government headquarters. The first round of the WBK took place from 1989 to 2002. An update mapping has been carried out since 2002.
