资源简介:
Eight long-term moorings were deployed in the Eurasian and Makarov Basins of the Arctic Ocean during the Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System (NABOS) 2021 cruise. They were successfully recovered in September 2023. The primary goal of the mooring observations was to understand the role of stratification in controlling the transport of heat and other properties of Atlantic Water (AW) to the upper ocean and ice. The primary objectives included quantifying the structure and temporal variability of the main water masses, as well as obtaining detailed information about upper ocean, halocline, AW layer dynamics, and seasonal variations. The moorings were heavily equipped with current meters. They used a combination of 300-kilohertz (kHz) and 75-kHz (Longranger) ADCPs (Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers), to measure the velocity profile from the ocean surface to the depth of ~450 meters (m). All instruments of the recovered moorings provided full two-year-long records. This archive includes NABOS ADCP current meter mooring data collected at MB1, MB3, MB4, MB5, MB6, MB7, MB8, and MB9 moorings in 2021-2023. Each file contains the date of ADCP measurements, the depths of the ADCP bins, and data collected on the eastward and northward velocity provided by each ADCP bin.
