Addressing the Sexual and Reproductive Health Information and Service Needs and Preferences of Young People in Sri Lanka: A Mixed-Methods Investigation

This PhD thesis examines the strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in sexual and reproductive health information sources and services in Sri Lanka to meet the needs and preferences of young people. A mixed-methods design was employed to conduct three research studies addressing this aim. These included a systematic review, a survey of university-going young adults, and semi-structured interviews with youth sexual and reproductive health experts. Implications for improving sexual and reproductive health information and care provided through Sri Lanka’s education and health sector, both at the national and community level, were drawn from findings of this PhD.
