Tonsil specimens were freshly obtained from children undergoing elective tonsillectomy, trimmed of adjacent mucosa and skeletal muscle, disaggregated into single-cell suspensions, and viably cryopreserved. Thawed suspensions were magnetically sorted to deplete cells expressing CD19+ and/or CD20+. Total RNA was extracted for gene expression profiling (GEP). Overall design: GEP data were used for comparison to similarly-prepared B-cell depleted fractions of follicular lymphoma samples.
