种子居于农业生产链条的最上源,是农业生产中最基本、最重要的生产资料,也是人类生存和发展的基础。根据国土资源部数据显示,中国耕地保有量人均不足1.4亩,为世界平均水平的40%。粮食的增产增收,成为确保国家粮食供给安全的根本途径。粮食生产离不开种子,种子行业处于整个农业产业链的起点,在很大程度上影响甚至决定了农作物产量和质量。作为农业大国,中国种子行业具有巨大、稳定的市场需求。 从全球范围来看,全球种业已经形成“育种-制种-销售”三大环节较为成熟的产业链,其中育种环节是种子产业的核心部分。作物种质资源是改良品种的基因来源,也是培育优质、高产作物的物质基础。近年来,生物技术、计算机技术的进步带动了育种技术的飞速发展,农业发达国家已进入以“生物技术+人工智能+大数据”为特征的育种4.0时代。转基因技术、基因编辑技术、全基因组选择育种、基因组学成为当前国际生物技术育种研究的核心与前沿。作为农业发展的基础性条件,活跃、创新的种业格局意义重大。
Seeds occupy the uppermost position in the agricultural production chain, serving as the most fundamental and critical means of production in agriculture, and also the foundation for human survival and development. According to data from the Ministry of Natural Resources of China, the per capita cultivated land reserve in China is less than 1.4 mu, accounting for only 40% of the global average. Increasing grain yield and farmers' income has become the fundamental approach to ensuring national food supply security. Grain production cannot be separated from seeds, and the seed industry is at the starting point of the entire agricultural industrial chain, which largely influences and even determines the yield and quality of crops. As a major agricultural country, China's seed industry has huge and stable market demand.
Globally, the global seed industry has formed a relatively mature industrial chain with three core links: breeding, seed production and marketing, among which the breeding link is the core part of the seed industry. Crop germplasm resources are the genetic source for variety improvement, and also the material basis for cultivating high-quality and high-yield crops. In recent years, advances in biotechnology and computer technology have driven the rapid development of breeding technologies, and developed agricultural countries have entered the Breeding 4.0 era characterized by "biotechnology + artificial intelligence + big data". Transgenic technology, gene editing technology, whole-genome selection breeding and genomics have become the core and frontier of current international biotechnology breeding research. As a fundamental condition for agricultural development, an active and innovative seed industry pattern is of great significance.
