Concepción Metropolitan Area Landslide Inventory (1990–2024)

The Concepción Metropolitan Area (CMA) Landslide Inventory is an updated geospatial database containing mapped landslides that occurred between 1990 and 2024 in the Biobío Region, south-central Chile. The inventory was developed to support landslide susceptibility assessment and related natural hazard studies. Landslides were compiled from multiple complementary sources, including technical reports, field surveys, scientific publications, high-resolution imagery, aerial photographs, Google Earth imagery, municipal records, local news, and social media. This release extends the inventory previously published by Castro-Venegas et al. (2025) by incorporating newly mapped landslides through 2024 while maintaining the same mapping methodology and database structure. The dataset contains three GIS layers: • Landslide initiation points (inventory) • Scarp polygons • Deposit polygons All files are provided in ESRI Shapefile format using the WGS84 / UTM Zone 18S (EPSG:32718) coordinate reference system.
