资源简介:
A detailed description of the background, aims, themes, methods and progress of the study is given on the project web page https://www.alswh.org.au/about/. In summary, the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health received funding in June 1995 in response to initiatives arising from the National Women's Health Policy. The project aims to examine the relationships between biological, psychological, social and lifestyle factors and women's physical health, emotional well-being, and their use of and satisfaction with health care. This will ensure that the Commonwealth and State Government Departments of Health are provided with current and accurate data regarding women's health and, in turn, assist with the future development of Australian health policy. The first wave was conducted in 1996, which was segregated into three cohort groups, namely Younger (18-23 years), Mid-age (45-50 years) and Older (70-75 years). Each cohort received a different questionnaire which varied in the types of questions asked, but in essence covered issues regarding overall physical and emotional health, use of health services, education, employment status, drug and/or alcohol use, diet, exercise, and family situation. The cohort groups' ages change slightly with each wave of the study, which occurs every 3 years. Overall, these surveys will be conducted over a 20 year period. This particular data set refers to a Food Frequency Questionnaire which was sent during Wave 3 of the surveys to the younger cohort of women aged 25-30 years. Variables include the consumption of alcohol, different foods and drink.
