Images and Data from Wings to the Past Community Event, University of Lincoln Riseholme Campus, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire, June 2019

This collection consist of images and data from Wings to the Past is a community event for volunteer serving RAF servicemen and their families, supervised by a team of professional archaeologists from Network Archaeology Ltd. Field-walking, metal-detecting and geophysical surveys were carried out at University of Lincoln Riseholme campus over the weekend of 6th and 7th June 2019 followed by a community excavation from 20-28th July 2019. The excavation was not only successful in providing significant information regarding Roman occupation on the site, but also had a profound effect on the volunteers taking part. The Wings to the Past team had the opportunity to work alongside their families, to investigate and add to the archaeological record.
