Antidiabetic effect of bio-enhanced preparation of Turmeric with increased bioavailability in Streptozotocin-Nicotinamide induced diabetic Wistar rats

To evaluate anti-diabetic activity/blood glucose lowering activity of test drugs which are turmeric preparations [BCM95 (bio-enhanced preparation of turmeric) & Curcuminoids95 (Regular turmeric preparations). Blood glucose levels (fbg, ogtt 1st and 2nd hour reading denoted with symbols OG1 and OG2) before treatment and after treatment. Blood was obtained from rat tail tip using lancing device provided with Glucometer. Day 30 Serum insulin levels were estimated from blood obtained through cardiac puncture. Weight of the animals was weighed using electronic small animal weighing balance.
