The current study was contextualized in Hong Kong Primary Four students’ Chinese reading. The dataset is divided into two phases. The first phase contains (1) basic information of 129 participating teachers; (2) attainment test results from 2,069 Primary Four students, (3) evaluations of instructional quality from 129 teachers as assessed by their students, and (4) self-efficacy results regarding reading instruction from those same 129 teachers.
