1963 Housing Survey: Survey Outline, Questionnaire, etc.

調査時期現在における本邦内地域のうち、総理府統計局長が指定した地域（本邦内地域の調査対象が一定の抽出率で調査されるように抽出された地域）を調査地域に設定し、
調査地域内にある住宅及び住宅以外で人の済んでいる建物を調査対象とした。
ただし、次に掲げる住宅及び地域は調査対象から除かれた。
・北方領土の一部、南方諸島、南鳥島および沖ノ鳥島、琉球諸島、大東諸島、竹島
・出入国管理令第4条第1号又は第2号に該当するものが管理する住宅
・駐留軍用住宅
・宮内庁が管理する皇室用財産である住宅
・刑務所、少年刑務所、拘置所、少年院及び少年鑑別所など
・入国者収容所
・自衛隊の官舎
・更生保護施設

The survey focuses on designated areas within the domestic territory of the nation, as specified by the Chief of the Statistics Bureau of the Cabinet Office, which are selected from the domestic territory at a certain extraction rate to ensure a representative sample. The survey targets residential buildings and other buildings inhabited by people within the survey area. However, the following types of residential buildings and areas are excluded from the survey: a part of the Northern Territories, the Southern Islands, the Ogasawara Islands, the Senkaku Islands, the Okinawa Islands, the Daito Islands, Dokdo; residential buildings managed by entities under Article 4, Paragraph 1 or Paragraph 2 of the Immigration Control Act; residential buildings used by stationed forces; residential properties managed by the Imperial Household Agency for imperial properties; prisons, juvenile prisons, detention centers, juvenile reformatories, and juvenile screening centers; immigration detention centers; government housing for the Self-Defense Forces; and rehabilitation and protection facilities.
