Complete Genome Sequence of Streptomyces Phage phiRKBJ001 Isolated from Prince Edward Island, Canada

Streptomyces sp. bacteria are a rich source of natural products (NPs), but in the laboratory setting the majority of biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) that encode for these NPs remain dormant. As an effort to better understand how bacteriophage impact cryptic BGCs expression, we are isolating and characterizing Streptomyces bacteriophage from the environment.
