Soil samples were collected from restaurant grease-deposit-site. An enriching step was carried out by inoculating minimal medium with soil and grown at 20°C. Olive oil was added to the medium as the only carbon source. This was done to enrich the samples for organisms having the ability to grow by metabolising oil. DNA was extracted. The acquired metagenome was sequenced at GATC (Constance, Germany). The DNA was sequenced in 300 bp paired end reads using the MiSeq platform.
