资源简介:
The two primary objectives of the General Social Survey (GSS) are: to gather data on social trends in order to monitor changes in the living conditions and well-being of Canadians over time; and to provide information on specific social policy issues of current or emerging interest. To meet these objectives, the data collected by the GSS comprise two components: core and classification content. Core content – giving, volunteering and participating in the case of the 2018 GSS GVP – measures changes in society related to living conditions and well-being, and supplies data to inform specific policy issues. Classification variables (such as age, gender, education, and income) help delineate population groups for use in the analysis of the core data. The 2018 General Social Survey (GSS) on Giving, Volunteering and Participating (GVP) interviewed individuals 15 years and over in Canada's ten provinces and was conducted from September to December 2018. The survey also provides data to the Canadian System of National Accounts and informs the charitable and voluntary sector in program decisions that relate to the sector.
