Global gas power capacity 2000-2023

Natural gas turbines with a combined power capacity of over 2.02 terawatts are installed worldwide as of 2023. This is up from 688 gigawatts, which were installed in 2000. Global gas power generation climbed to some 6,635 terawatt hours in 2023, the highest ever volume recorded and more than double the volume generated in 2000.
