资源简介:
This project will increase the connectivity of the hind dune ecosystems of Blacksmiths Beach by rationalising beach access tracks and planting out cleared areas. The volunteer group, assisted by Lake Macquarie Landcare, will engage the local community (including schools, nearby residents and the local Sustainable Neighbourhood group) in replanting cleared areas with locally native coastal heath vegetation. Signage and temporary fencing will be installed to help reduce unnecessary tracks and to direct walkers to nearby formalised tracks that have recently been upgraded by Council. This will improve the connectivity and resilience of the hind dune ecosystems.
