For storm-tracking: 6-hourly SLP based on 12 precession simulations using AWIESM2
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains 6-hourly sea level pressure from 12 equilibrium simulations with the coupled climate model AWI-ESM2. The simulations sample a full precession cycle. The longitude of perihelion is set to values from 0 to 330 degrees in steps of 30 degrees, with eccentricity fixed at 0.058 and obliquity at 24.5 degrees. All other boundary conditions follow the pre-industrial setup. Each experiment covers 30 years of the equilibrated state on the T63 grid of ECHAM6. There is one NetCDF file per experiment, named after its perihelion angle, for example p090_slp_mergetime.nc, each holding the variable psl at 6-hourly resolution. The data were produced for tracking extratropical cyclones and are the basis of a study on how precession reshapes the seasonal cycle of mid-latitude storm activity.
