Prediction of Human Bone Sawing Forces from Bone Porosity, Tool Geometry, and Machining Parameters

This dataset was collected during a study on fresh-frozen human cortical bone from the femoral midshaft. It includes cutting and thrust force measurements recorded during single-tooth sawing of four cadaveric femora under varying depths of cut (DOC), cutting orientations, and blade types. Cortical porosity was quantified along each sawn path using microscopic images, which are also included in the dataset. The raw data for tests are included in this database. Each test has a separate folder containing the corresponding files and a read-me file explaining the dataset content and file naming.
