Ripasudil Utilization in Managing Corneal Edema Subsequent to Cataract Surgery : AMeta-analysis of Controlled Studies
收藏资源简介:
Purpose: This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the eficacy of Ripasudil eye drops in reducingcorneal edema following cataract surgery by assessing its efects on central corneal thickness(CCT) and endothelial cell density (ECD).Methods: A systematic search of PubMed, Scopus, Epistemonikos, and Google Scholar wasconducted to identify controlled studies comparing Ripasudil with a control group. The primaryoutcomes were changes in CCT and ECD. Study selection followed PRISMA guidelines, anddata were analyzed using RevMan 5.4.Results: From 577 records screened, three studies met the inclusion criteria. Pooled analysisshowed a significant reduction in CCT with Ripasudil compared to control (mean diference [MD]= –20.21 µm; 95% confidence interval [CI]: –39.86 to –0.56; P = 0.04; I² = 0%), indicatingdecreased corneal thickness. Ripasudil also significantly improved ECD (MD = 166.26cells/mm²; 95% CI: 35.38 to 297.15; P = 0.01; I² = 0%).Conclusions: Ripasudil eye drops significantly reduce CCT and enhance ECD after cataractsurgery, supporting their potential role in preventing or managing postoperative corneal edema.
