资源简介:
The pdf file contains scans of vegetation plot raw datasheets for eight vegetation plots placed throughout the Bellamy River Reservoir in Dover, NH, USA. Field botanists (Dr. Brett Still and trained graduate students) from University of Rhode Island visited the site on August 20, 2019 to collect vegetation data following the Stream Barrier Removal Monitoring Guide (Collins et al. 2007), which organizes vegetation structure into three cover classes partly defined by vegetation height. Herbaceous cover was defined as vegetation less than 0.9 m (3 ft) in height, shrub cover was 0.9 m (3 ft) to 6.1 m (20 ft), and tree cover was >6.1 m (20 ft). Herbaceous plants were evaluated within a 5 ft radius from a vegetation plot center, shrub plants within a 15 ft radius, and tree cover within a 30 ft radius. Vegetation species data as well as vegetation structure data were collected at the vegetation plots. An illustrative percent cover guide (e.g. Terry & Chilingar 1955) was used in the field to help reduce the subjectivity in estimating percent cover for each plant species in the field.
The included spreadsheet contains the calculations used for determining vegetation cover in each plot.
These data were collected using resources from an NSF EPSCoR funded project “RII Track-2 FEC: Strengthening the scientific basis for decision-making about dams: Multi-scale, coupled-systems research on ecological, social, and economic trade-offs” (a.k.a. "Future of Dams"). Support for this project is provided by the National Science Foundation’s Research Infrastructure Improvement NSF #IIA-1539071.
