EVOLUTION OF AGN IN THE COSMIC WEB: THE HST+VIMOS+SWIRE COSMOS FIELD

We propose a mosaic of mediumdeep XMM pointings to homogeneously cover a large(2 deg**2) and contiguous area of the COSMOS/VIMOS field. This field is (1) partof a breakthrough spectroscopic survey carried out using the FrenchItalianVIMOS consortium.s 70 nights of guaranteed VLT time, to provide redshifts forall the objects with I_AB<24, and (2) target of the Cosmos HST/ACS treasuryprogram, carried out using 640 HST orbits, to understand the interplay betweenLarge Scale Structure, evolution and the formation of galaxies, Dark Matter Energy and AGN.
