Lung and tracheal microbiome changes in susceptible DBA/2 and less susceptible C3H/HeN mouse strains after Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing

Using 16S rRNA gene (V3 region) amplicon sequencing, we investigated the microbial communities of the tracheal and lung biofilms of highly susceptible and less susceptible inbred mouse strains, DBA/2 and C3H/HeN, respectively, and followed their changes upon infection by 10E7 CFU of P. aeruginosa PA01 per lung via aerosolization at 12 hour intervals, for 60 hrs.
