(2026) ## ContentsThis repository contains the processed mooring data, derived eddytracking data, core analysis functions, and figure-generation scriptsused in the above study. ## File structure ### Mooring data (WKB-normalized, NIW band-pass filtered)- M1_wkb_NIW.mat : M1 (114.78E, 19.41N), 60-440 m, variables: u_wkb, v_wkb, depth, Time- M2_wkb_NIW.mat : M2 (112.50E, 18.52N), 100-480 m- M3_wkb_NIW.mat : M3 (113.90E, 18.56N), 60-560 m ### Derived eddy tracking data- CE_main_track.csv : Cyclonic eddy track (date, lon, lat, KE, amplitude, radius)- OW_M1.csv : Okubo-Weiss parameters at M1 (date, zeta, zeta_over_f, f_eff_f, sla)- OW_M2.csv : Okubo-Weiss parameters at M2- OW_M3.csv : Okubo-Weiss parameters at M3 ### Core MATLAB functions- rotarydecompose.m : CW/CCW rotary decomposition via vertical-wavenumber FFT- niw_butter.m : Near-inertial bandpass filter (4th-order Butterworth, SOS, filtfilt)- slab_euler.m : Mixed-layer slab model for wind near-inertial energy flux (WNEF)- ye_calinertial_freq.m: Inertial frequency calculation- lp81_stress.m : Wind stress (Large and Pond, 1981) ### Figure scripts (main text Figures 1-5)- Figure1.m : Overview map, zeta/f, NIKE, and WNEF time series- Figure2.m : CW/CCW NIKE depth-time sections for M1, M3, M2- Figure3.m : CW-CCW time-lag cross-correlation and three-station comparison- Figure4.m : N^2 profile, f_eff/f profile, and 2D ray-tracing- Figure5.m : zeta/f vs NIKE cross-correlation, Richardson number, energy transfer rate ## Software requirements- MATLAB R2025a (or later)- m_map toolbox (for Figure1 map projection; https://www.eoas.ubc.ca/~rich/map.html) ## External data (not included)The following publicly available datasets are required to run certain figure scripts:- CCMP wind fields: https://www.remss.com/measurements/ccmp/- CMEMS ocean reanalysis (SLA, 3D velocity, T/S, MLD): https://data.marine.copernicus.eu- JTWC tropical cyclone best-track data Users must set the file paths marked "USER: set these paths" at the top ofeach figure script to point to their local copies of these datasets. ## Notes- ADCP sampling interval: 30 min; vertical resolution: 20 m- Observation period: 2018-08-25 to 2019-01-22- All analyses use the inertial frequency from ye_calinertial_freq.m- NIW band-pass range: [f/1.15, f*1.15] ## LicenseThis dataset is released under the CC0 1.0 Universal (Public Domain Dedication).See LICENSE.txt for details. ## How to citePeng, Y., Zhang, H., Tian, D., & Wang, Y.
