Typological arrangement data for Sagalassos Red Slip Ware

Assembling archaeological pottery data of high quality in digital format is challenging; especially when archaeological campaigns span decades. This dataset concerns pottery finds collected during the excavation campaigns held between 1992 and 2021 at the archaeological site of Sagalassos in Southwest Anatolia (modern Türkiye). The dataset consists of components that affect and derive from the algorithmic typological (re)arrangement of the red slipped tableware produced locally during Roman times. The components consist of the morphological description (numerical and textual) of pottery finds, and archaeologically essential metadata (spatial and temporal) of popular type-variants and functional groups of Sagalassos Red Slip Ware.
