Order volume of new Shinkansen train carriages in Japan FY 2016-2022

In the fiscal year 2022, Shinkansen operators in Japan ordered 57 high-speed train carriages, up from an order volume of 18 carriages in the preceding fiscal year. The Japanese bullet train has been renowned worldwide for its reliability regarding speed, punctuality, and safety since its inauguration in 1964. Accordingly, Japanese manufacturers were able to export their technology to Taiwan, for example.
