WFS Altimeter

This download service is used to determine the normal height for a given coordinate in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. The digital terrain model 10 m serves as the basis. The altimeter elevation service provides an interface for the request of altitude data on given coordinates, which can be integrated into other applications. The service is implemented as a standardised web feature service. The service is based on the digital terrain model grid width 10 m (DGM10). The DGM10 describes the terrain shapes of the earth’s surface by a point set in a regular grid, georeferenced in position and height. The heights themselves are stored in meters with an accuracy of three decimal places. Elevation values for coordinates that are not located on the grid points are linearly interpolated based on the adjacent heights. Unrecognised elevation values are defined in the grid points by the value -9999. These values occur, among other things, outside Germany’s borders. Soil resolution: 10 m
