We describe here the metagenomics-derived viral sequences found in cloaca swabs samples collected from chickens in China. Feces can be the source of numerous viral infections in humans and animals.Four libraries were then constructed using Nextera XT DNA Sample Preparation Kit (Illumina) and then sequenced using the Miseq Illumina platform with 250 bases paired ends with a distinct molecular tag for each pool
