DropThe Streaming Availability Dataset: Cross-Platform Content Mapping

This dataset provides a structured sample of the streaming availability data maintained by DropThe, a data utility media network covering movies, series, cryptocurrencies, and companies. The full production database tracks over 685,000 streaming availability records across major platforms including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Peacock, Apple TV+, and regional services. Each record maps a specific entity (movie or series) to a streaming platform in a specific country, with verification timestamps indicating when availability was last confirmed. The dataset distinguishes between subscription streaming, rental availability, and purchase options, providing a complete picture of where content can be accessed legally. The data is sourced through automated monitoring pipelines that check platform availability APIs and public catalogs on a rolling basis. Records are linked to the DropThe entity database, which contains over 1.8 million entities with structured metadata including IMDb identifiers, popularity scores, and genre classifications. This sample contains 25 representative records covering popular titles across multiple platforms and countries. The full dataset, available through the DropThe Studio, includes availability data for over 66,000 media entities across 50+ streaming platforms and 190+ countries. The data is updated continuously as platforms add and remove content from their catalogs. Fields included: entity_id, entity_name, entity_type, platform, platform_type, country (ISO 2-letter code), availability_type, and last_verified date. The platform_type field distinguishes subscription services from transactional rental and purchase platforms.
