资源简介:
Dataset of field experiments on hummingbirds' selectivity and hummingbirds morphology used in Guevara et al., 2023 Hummingbird community structure and nectar resources modulate the response of interspecific competition to forest conversion (submitted to Oecologia).
Selectivity approximates the competitive ability of hummingbirds to access optimal nectar resources (see methods Guevara et al., 2023).
Metadata of Selectivity2023 file site: name of the reserve or farm were the experiment was done habitat: type of habitat forest conversion: dummy variable indicating whether forest conversion have occurred (0 = forest, 1 = converted) hummingbird: hummingbird species activity: measure of hummingbird species' activity at experimental feeders (number of visits per species divided over the total number of visits of all hummingbirds) trial: trial number day: date of the experiment day2: day number used in analyses hour: hour during the day at which the observation was done time10: time in seconds spent feeding at the 10% percent feeder time30: time in seconds spent feeding at the 30% percent feeder timeT: total time spent at both feeders selectivity: proportion of time spent at the optimal resource in relation to the total resources.all: number of open flowers around 100m nearby the experimental trials morph.distance: morphological distance among competing humminbgbirds (see methods Guevara et al., 2023). weighted.distance: morphological distance weighted by activity (see methods Guevara et al., 2023).
