Plant-parasitic nematodes cause severe economic losses to agriculture. Purpureocillium lavendulum is an important biocontrol agent of nematodes. In order to characterize the mechanisms for biological control of nematodes and understand the biological regulation of asexual develop regulation in the molecular level, we sequenced the whole genome of the nematophagous fungus P. lavendulum.
