Biotope and Usage Types

The nationwide biotope and usage type mapping was created by interpretation of colorinfrared (CIR) aerial images from 1993 and 1994. The Mapping is fully available in analogue and digital form. The mapping provides a differentiated overview of land use (e.g. vegetation, Settlement areas) at the time of flight. Since December 2004, the results of Biotope Type and Usage Type mapping part of FIS Nature Conservation (LINFOS). Additional information Forest areas are not differentiated; the mapping in the open country is further differentiated and updated by the subsequent openland biotope mapping (1996-2012), which limits openland biotope mapping however, the suspected areas for protected biotopes, i.e. a comprehensive overview for Thuringia in a mosaic of CIR biotope and Types of use from 1993/1994 and the OBK areas attached therein from 1996-2012.
