Biodegradable aqueous marking paint solution for marking a tree trunk， the aqueous solution also containing a corrosion inhibitor， characterized in that the aqueous marking paint solution consists of 40 to 60% by weight glycerol， 35 to 55% by weight water， 0.1 to 2% by weight % of a dye， 0.1 to 2% by weight of a corrosion inhibitor and 0 to 3% by weight of an additive such as a foam suppressant， wherein the total amount of glycerin and water in the aqueous solution is still higher than 95%， the aqueous marker paint solution containing a dye in the amount of 0.1 to 1 wt .-% of the total weight of the aqueous solution， the dye according to the European Standard 13432 is biodegradable.
