Drosophila melanogaster NP3253 is a Gal4 enhancer trap strain. When some neurons are artificially inactivated using this strain (NP3253>Kir2.1), fly becomes susceptible to bacteria oral infection. To address this mechanism, RNA-seq of fly gut was performed, when the neurons were inactivated (NP3253>Kir2.1), activated (NP3253>TrpA) or on steady states (NP3253>GFP: control or NP3253>Kir2.1+elavGal80: rescue) under bacteria (Pseudomonas entomophila) or control (sucrose solution) feeding conditions.
