Human sperm DNA methylation

The project focused on the effects of air pollution on sperm DNA methylation in 18 non-smoking municipal policemen, who spend their working time patrolling outdoors, exposed to the polluted air in an industrial urban setting (Prague, Czech Republic). In eight of the men we compared the sperm DNA methylation in two successive semen samples collected from each of the men following a period of high (winter season, SP) and low (summer season, SN) exposure, with the aim to reveal possible sperm DNA methylation changes associated with the air pollution dynamics. Data on sperm DNA methylation in these 18 policemen from Prague were compared with previously obtained data on sperm DNA methylation in 24 municipal policemen from Ostrava (Czech Republic) available under the entry PRJNA759765. These two cities differ by sources and levels of air pollution.
