This dataset contains the original video recordings of the blue-lined octopus copulation, which were used in the supplementary video in our publication. Nine videos were deposited in UQ data repository as the open dataset. Eight videos (total 121 minutes) provide different view angles to examine the copulation behaviour in detail. One clip of MRI (9.4 Tesla, 75 μm isotropic resolution) showed a three-dimensional animation of the female blue-lined octopus, the associated internal organs and the males' biting sites (20 seconds).
